Schedule: Part-Time, 8:00AM – 5:00PM, Tuesday – Thursday

Job Summary: 

 

The Medical Scribe will support physicians by accurately documenting patient encounters, procedures, and clinical information in real-time. This role ensures the integrity and completeness of medical records, enabling providers at Advanced Pain Medicine Institute to deliver efficient, high-quality care. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, certified as a Medical Scribe, and experienced in clinical environments—particularly in procedure-based specialties.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Works closely with physicians during patient procedures, accurately documenting actions, observations, and clinical findings in real time.
  • Dictates and transcribes notes from physicians into the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Creates and completes all required documentation for patient charts, including histories, physical exams, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Ensures documentation complies with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and always adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assists with managing clinical workflow to improve efficiency and reduce physician administrative burden.
  • Collaborates with clinical staff to clarify documentation or gather supplemental information as needed.
  • Prepares charts and documentation prior to patient visits when required.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Certification as a Medical Scribe is required.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working as a Medical Scribe, preferably in a pain management, procedural, or specialty clinic setting.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical documentation best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure during procedures and in patient-facing settings.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Must be able to remain in a standing or seated position for extended periods during procedures and documentation.
  • Must be able to move within clinical areas to observe procedures and access patient charts.
  • Requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate clearly with medical staff in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and other documentation tools.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required (e.g., charts, small equipment).
